The European Product Evaluation Institute runs the European Best Value Award, a private, evidence-based product assessment. It is a service of smartzone GmbH, a German company. It is not a public authority, is not affiliated with the European Union or any government, and holds no government accreditation.
We choose most products ourselves and assess them without asking the manufacturer first. Each product is compared with a published standard for its category and price class. Public evidence establishes the facts, and fixed rules turn them into a score. Artificial intelligence helps us find and sort evidence, but it never decides a result.
Where fees exist at all, they are published and pay for the right to use the seal for a limited time, never for a score. Every published award has a current public status, a full report and a way to report errors.
