The European Product Evaluation Institute operates the European Best Value Award as a private, commercial, evidence-based product assessment. It is a service of smartzone GmbH—not a public authority, not affiliated with the European Union or any government, and not government-accredited.
We choose most of the products ourselves and assess them without asking the manufacturer first. Each one is measured against a versioned category and price-class benchmark. Evidence establishes the facts; a deterministic engine applies the published rules. Artificial intelligence helps find and structure evidence, but it never decides a result.
Where fees exist at all, they are published and pay for assessment work or time-limited usage rights — never for a score. Every published award carries a current public status, a full report and a route for corrections.
