We choose products that matter in a European category, usually the ones buyers actually see. Manufacturers can also put a product forward. That changes nothing about the rules.

Check the category
The product must belong to a category with a published standard and have a documented European price.

Source + quote
Collect the evidence
Manufacturer pages, datasheets, manuals, official registers and shop listings establish every relevant fact, each with a source and a quote.

Doubt stays visible
Pass the basic checks
Price, identity, the must-have features of the category and the recall status are checked before a single point is counted.

No discretion
Calculate the result
The rules compare expectations, extras and drawbacks and apply the one award line at 70 points.

Status stays public
Publish and monitor
Products that pass are published with a report and a verification page. Products that fail are not published. If the status changes later, that stays public too.
