The European Best Value Award goes to products that give buyers full value for their money: everything a product at that price should offer, and often more. We check that against a published standard for the category and price class, using public facts and one set of rules that is the same for every product. The assessment is free, and only products that pass are published, each with a public report anyone can check in seconds.

The market sets the bar. The rules are the same for everyone.
Before a single point is counted, we place the product in the right category and price class. What a product in that class has to offer is published in advance, and every product is held to the same standard.

Identify the product
We confirm the exact model and variant, find a documented European price, check the features every product in the category must have, and make sure there is no active safety recall.

Set the price class
The lowest documented European price decides which price class the product competes in. A €150 product is compared with other €150 products, never with a €900 one. Close to a class boundary, we calculate both classes and count the better result.

Compare with the standard
For every price class we have written down what buyers can expect, what counts as a real extra and what counts as a drawback. Every fact needs a public source and a quote. What we cannot find counts as missing.

Calculate and publish
The rules do the maths. At 70 points or more the product earns the award and a permanent public record. Below 70, nothing is published. We report winners, not failures.
How the points work
Meeting expectations scores 70. Beating them scores more.
A product that offers everything typical for its price class scores 70, which is exactly the award line. Real extras above the class add points. Missing features and drawbacks cost points. What we cannot find in public sources counts as missing. That keeps the award honest, even when it costs a good product a few points.
The result is capped between 0 and 100. A product gets a score only after it has passed the four basic checks.

Where the facts come from
Every point has a source you can open.
We research each product ourselves: manufacturer pages, datasheets, manuals, official registers and shop listings. No samples, no forms, no paperwork on your side. When sources disagree, the stronger evidence wins, and several independent sources outweigh a single mention. Anything a manufacturer sends us is labelled as such in the report.

Anyone can check a seal in seconds.
The award number and the QR code on the seal open the public record: the exact product, the score, the evidence, the current status, and whether the manufacturer was involved at all. Buyers, retailers and journalists see for themselves how the award was earned.
