The Hikmicro Mini X is a wireless dual-camera thermal imager for smartphones and tablets, assessed against the Thermal Imaging Cameras (DIY / Building / Automotive) benchmark. It scored 85 out of 100, well clear of the 70-point award threshold. All three mandatory criteria are documented: CE conformity, true radiometric measurement with a stated accuracy of ±2 °C / ±2 %, and full operability in the EU with German and English documentation alongside the HIKMICRO Viewer app.

Why it won

Resolution above class expectation

The 256×192 VOx detector provides 49,152 measurement points with SuperIR enhancement — resolution rated as clearly above what this price class expects, and the single largest bonus at five points. The stated thermal sensitivity of below 40 mK also exceeds the class expectation of roughly 50 mK.

Sharp from five centimetres

The optics are manually focusable via a 3.5 mm adjustable focal lens, with a minimum focus distance of 0.05 m documented for close work such as PCB diagnostics. Macro capability and manual focus were each awarded three bonus points — a combination the mid-range class does not require.

Fusion imaging and measurement tools

Five image modes are documented: thermal, visual, fusion, picture-in-picture and blending. Visual blending is normally expected only above this class and was worth three points. Measurement covers centre, hot and cold spot plus three user-definable spots, three rectangles and one line, saved as radiometric JPEG or MP4.

EU service and broad compatibility

The manufacturer states a service and repair address inside the EU (Albertslund, Denmark), so warranty handling need not leave the union; that earned three points.
